Magical Mountain Moments

What we had planned on being an incredible record-breaking trip turned into exactly that, only not quite how we originally imagined. Two years ago our overwhelming excitement was born as we began obsessing over hikes on our first trip to Colorado while the leaves were changing! In the valley of 14 14ers, we had huge goals and our dreams ran wild!

Nearly 8 months ago our lives were forever changed when we welcomed two tiny heeler pups into our hearts and home. We knew then that our huge hiking goals and mountaineering dreams would be altered to smaller puppy goals and photography dreams. We embraced the change and got excited about our new adventures!

We went into this incredible mountain vacation hoping we would be able to summit a 14er, but knowing that ultimately Nikko and Willow would decide how the trip would go. We were open and ready for every beautiful moment that was gifted to us - which was a LOT! We were surrounded by total beauty the entire time thanks to our lovely tour guides (Bill and Denise), beautiful birthday girl (Roaalee), and the little aspen grove home we found! Oh, and we ended up breaking TWO records - most puppy miles ever (4.99) and least total miles ever (14)!

I wanted to share some “professional” Sony shots that I am so very proud of! The moments behind the photos were beautiful, magical and otherworldly .. I will always be so very grateful for each one of them! With photography, though - there’s another side to the incredible moments .. from only having certain angles to shoot from and, at times less than ideal lighting, to on the spot lens swapping, tripod mounting / unmounting and constant camera setting adjustments - photography can be a tad frustrating … ohhhh but it can be SO REWARDING!! 🍁🍂🍁🍂
