My Heartsong

Sauntering through the chilly, pine scented, mountainous forest, we came upon one of the most beautiful sites I have witnessed. I paused in awe, feeling the strength of the mighty river below. Steep edges lined the walls of this side of the canyon, so there was so chance of scaling down. Instead, I put the leg of my tripod on the ledge and let my camera dangle far over the rushing waters, hundreds of feet below. I breathed in deeply and held as still as I could for this shot. I needed this shot. I was born from these waters, from these rocks, from these trees. This is a photo of my heartsong in still action. I am a river made of glacial melt, flowing freely from beneath the massive flat top of Longs Peak.
